Job Description:

Accounting Specialist Join a collaborative finance team as an Accounting Specialist, responsible for payroll processing, AP/AR functions, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting. This role supports accurate financial operations through consistent data entry, timely reporting, and cross-departmental coordination. Key Responsibilities: Administer semi-monthly payroll: verify timesheets, resolve discrepancies, ensure approvals, and submit to payroll provider. Serve as payroll liaison, addressing employee and third-party inquiries and managing requests for accurate processing. Process vendor invoices: validate coding, route for approval, maintain compliance, and manage vendor updates. Generate and reconcile invoices for receivables, track reimbursements, and keep vendor data current. Support purchasing activity through PO tracking and data updates. Post journal entries, manage ledger updates, and ensure accurate financial records. Compile monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for internal use and submission to agencies, including tax filings and budget reports. Issue and file annual W-2s and 1099s in accordance with IRS requirements. Reconcile deposits and record cash receipts. Provide guidance on financial procedures to internal departments. Assist with general accounting tasks including data entry, audits, and document preparation. Qualifications: Associate degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience) required. Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience; 5 years preferred. Strong customer service and prior lead or point-of-contact experience preferred.
