Staff Accountant / GL Accountant - Work with a Fantastic Organization Our client, a respected organization based in Vancouver, WA, is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant or General Ledger Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting payroll functions. Key Responsibilities of the Role: Staff Accountant Preparing and entering monthly journal entries to maintain an accurate and timely financial close process. Performing detailed Balance Sheet and Income Statement account analysis to ensure the integrity of the general ledger. Preparing monthly financial statements and related reports for department heads and the Finance Manager, including making necessary adjustments. Assisting with the administration of employee benefit plans, including 401(k), medical, and dental offerings. Administering and maintaining the fixed asset program, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation. Reconciling monthly bank statements to the company's check register and general ledger. Maintaining and updating royalty and unearned income spreadsheets. Reviewing and posting all subledger entries for accuracy and completeness. Performing intercompany account reconciliations and submitting related journal entries to subsidiaries. Preferred Requirements: Staff Accountant Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end closing processes. Proficiency with accounting software systems; intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs). Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
