Remote or Hybrid option?
The School of Psychological Science invites applications for one or
more fixed term, non-tenure-track full/part time Instructor
positions to teach on a term by term basis for the 2023-2024
academic year. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for
renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual
basis at the discretion of the Director.
Instructors may be needed to teach at the Corvallis campus, fully
online through eCampus, and/or hybrid eCampus courses in Portland.
Opportunities may develop for summer teaching.
As part of the College of Liberal Arts, the School of Psychological
Science provides psychological expertise to the university and to
the state of Oregon. We do this by engaging in cutting-edge
research and by training undergraduate and graduate students in the
science of psychology. With more than 800 majors, Psychology is one
of the largest undergraduate majors at OSU. The School offers BA
and BS degrees, a minor, and a PhD degree.
The faculty includes 14 tenure-track members and 15 instructors
with areas of specialization that include Psychobiology, Cognitive
Psychology, Health Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social
Psychology, Engineering Psychology, and Clinical Psychology.

miles south of Portland, and an hour from the Cascades or the

100% - Instruction:
PSY 201/202 General Psychology, statistics, research methods, or
advanced courses in the instructor's specialty area.
Instructors are responsible for holding regular office hours
(during the terms instructor is teaching face-to-face and hybrid
courses with in-person meetings), submitting final grades by the
University due date, promptly responding to students and colleagues
via University email address. Makes decisions regarding academic
integrity, grading, and other matters related to teaching
University classes. Complies with School, College, and University
policies and rules. May supervise GTAs.
What You Will Need
M.S. or M.A. in Psychology.
Evidence of excellence in teaching or the potential for excellence
in teaching a wide variety of Psychology courses, including large
lecture classes, writing intensive classes, Clinical Psychology,
Research Methods, Statistics, Human Life Span Development,
Personality, or Introductory Psychology.
Teaching experience at the college/university level.
