JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSEThis position leads the total revenue cycle function, helping drive the processes, policies, procedures, and systems necessary to support the health system. Responsible for facilitating the implementation of systems, processes, and procedures to insure regulatory compliance, and maintaining an awareness of changes in healthcare matters that directly or indirectly impact the revenue of the health system. Concentrates resources on improving core financial operations and clinical care delivery, protecting the assets of organization. Critical responsibilities include achievement of annual and periodic goals for significant statistical indicators of revenue cycle performance and for the organizations overall financial performance. Demonstrates through plans and actions that there is a consistent standard of excellence to which all departmental work is expected to conform. Such a standard should be based on establishing and maintaining a constancy of purpose, focusing on continuous improvement within area of influence, and delivering the highest degree of quality service possible.DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONThe Regional Business Office is responsible for the accurate and timely follow- up on claims for services provided at all lines of business in all service locations.EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONSBachelors degree required in business, health or public administration, management or other related field. Masters degree in hospital or business administration, accounting, finance, or related field and closely related clinical discipline preferred.Seven (7) years progressive management experience that includes vice president level experience in a healthcare receivables field required. Must have a work record that demonstrates: in-depth knowledge of hospital and physician billing and reimbursement, leadership in the core values of the organization, clear and effective communication skills, a mature approach to problem solving for all types of issues, knowledge of medical terminology, and negotiating skills.Excellent computer skills including database and spreadsheet utilization required.Epic experience strongly preferred.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESLeadership - Inspires, motivates, and guides others toward accomplishing goals. Achieves desired results through effective people management.Conflict resolution - Influences others to build consensus and gain cooperation. Proactively resolves conflicts in a positive and constructive manner.Critical thinking - Identifies complex problems. Involves key parties, gathers pertinent data and considers various options in decision making process. Develops, evaluates and implements effective solutions.Communication and team building - Leads effectively with excellent verbal and written communication. Delegates and initiates/manages cross-functional teams and multi-disciplinary projects.
