Summary: The Clinical Support Specialist (CSS) provides a full range of critical support as part of a comprehensive medical team.Principal Responsibilities:Based on applicant skill set and background, primary duties of this position may include, but are not limited to:Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards Handbook. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained withinPre-visit planning and post-visit coordination for patients, patient rooming, collecting patient vital signs, managing medication refills, point of care testing, documentation in the electronic medical record, maintaining clinic flow, inventory management, assisting with procedures and treatments, and communicating with efficiency and diplomacyThe CSS may work under the clinical direction of the clinic providers, registered nurses as appropriate, and has a direct reporting relationship to the Practice SupervisorEducation/Licensure/Experience:High School diploma or equivalentBLS certification within three (3) months of hireOne or more of the following:Successful completion of a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces, ORCurrent Oregon Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license (basic or advance) and national EMT registration with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) ORCompletion of a nationally recognized accredited licensed practical nurse (LPN) training programCompletion of a nationally recognized accredited certified medical assistant (CMA) training program, ORCompletion of a nationally recognized accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA I or II) training program, ORCompletion of a nationally recognized accredited pharmacy technician (PhT or CPhT) training program, OR6-Months of successful experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare clinic settingIntermediate computer proficiencyAbility to successfully serve a variety of diverse customers in difficult situationsAbility to provide service excellence, kindness, and compassionSkill in developing and maintaining professional relationshipsAbility to prioritize work demandsAbility to interpret and follow policies, procedures, and protocolsBasic applied math skills, including calculations and conversionsProven record of reliable attendance, punctuality, and successful performance with past and present employersKnowledge and Skills:Knowledge of patient care and aseptic techniqueAbility to work well with providers and other staffAbility to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy, fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work
