Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily: Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards Handbook. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within. Provides nursing care according to the sequential steps of the nursing process: assessment, planning intervention, implementation and evaluation. Opens, cleans and restocks the unit for the day. Assists in preparation of all necessary medication/equipment involved in patient care. Admits patient to procedure room/post-operative area, assess and documents patient status, formulates plan of care and completes all physician orders. Monitors and assesses patient s condition throughout the procedure and/or post-operative period. Provides instructions, information and counseling to patients and their families as needed. Assists in all areas, as needed, to balance work load and assure quality patient care. Improve the quality of care through continuing education and self-evaluation of the effectiveness of care. This includes attendance/participation in most in-services/department meetings and remaining current on clinic/department policies and procedures. Participate in the orientation and training of new employees. Position requirements The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essentialfunctions.Education: Graduate of an accredited school of registered or licensed practical nursing BSN/Bachelor of Science in Nursing or health related field preferredRelated experience: Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience with at least two (2) years experience in critical care, PACU or Medical Surgical Nursing desiredCertificates, Licenses, or Registrations: Current unencumbered State of Oregon license as a Registered Nurse Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers required Current ACLS or able to obtain ACLS within six (6) months of hire date Current PALS desiredREQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a busy, fast-paced environment whilemaintaining quality of work. Efficient prioritizing and management of assignments with minimal oversight or direction Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, co-workers, and physicians. Demonstrated willingness to research, learn and obtain knowledge for the performance of the position Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills. Adaptability to rapidly changing priorities.Technical Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: the nursing process and of basic clinical skills to provide patient care. Commonly used applications and general computing for work processing. Intermediate keyboarding skills preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of pre and post-operative equipment usage and troubleshooting of suchPhysical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, carry, and/or move up to 60 pounds. The work requires sitting, standing, walking, talking and hearing; frequently requires the use of hands-and-fingers, handling writing instruments, computers and office supplies which require repetitive arm wrist and hand movement. Occasionally, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to regular focus on a computer screen.
