Position The ASC Nurse, Pre-Op, Post-Op performs nursing functions
according to the sequential steps of the nursing process:
assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation
as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.Essential Duties
and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties,
responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any
time with or without notice. To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily: Will participate and maintain a culture within The
Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in
the Service and Behavioral Standards Handbook. To this end,
employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace
the principles contained within. Provides nursing care according to
the sequential steps of the nursing process: assessment, planning
intervention, implementation and evaluation. Opens, cleans and
restocks the unit for the day. Assists in preparation of all
necessary medication/equipment involved in patient care. Admits
patient to procedure room/post-operative area, assess and documents
patient status, formulates plan of care and completes all physician
orders. Monitors and assesses patient s condition throughout the
procedure and/or post-operative period. Provides instructions,
information and counseling to patients and their families as
needed. Assists in all areas, as needed, to balance work load and
assure quality patient care. Improve the quality of care through
continuing education and self-evaluation of the effectiveness of
care. This includes attendance/participation in most
in-services/department meetings and remaining current on
clinic/department policies and procedures. Participate in the
orientation and training of new employees. Position requirements

registered or licensed practical nursing BSN/Bachelor of Science in
Nursing or health related field preferredRelated experience:
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience with at least two
(2) years experience in critical care, PACU or Medical Surgical
Nursing desiredCertificates, Licenses, or Registrations: Current
unencumbered State of Oregon license as a Registered Nurse Current
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers required Current
ACLS or able to obtain ACLS within six (6) months of hire date
Current PALS desiredREQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Ability to work on
multiple projects simultaneously in a busy, fast-paced environment
whilemaintaining quality of work. Efficient prioritizing and
management of assignments with minimal oversight or direction
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
with patients, staff, co-workers, and physicians. Demonstrated
willingness to research, learn and obtain knowledge for the
performance of the position Excellent critical thinking and problem
solving skills. Adaptability to rapidly changing
priorities.Technical Skills: To perform this job successfully, an
individual should have knowledge of: the nursing process and of
basic clinical skills to provide patient care. Commonly used
applications and general computing for work processing.
Intermediate keyboarding skills preferred. Demonstrated knowledge
of pre and post-operative equipment usage and troubleshooting of
suchPhysical Demands: The physical demands described here are
representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to lift, carry, and/or move up to 60 pounds. The work
requires sitting, standing, walking, talking and hearing;
frequently requires the use of hands-and-fingers, handling writing
instruments, computers and office supplies which require repetitive
arm wrist and hand movement. Occasionally, climbing, stooping,
kneeling, crouching, or bending. Specific vision abilities required
by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception, and ability to regular focus on a
computer screen. Work Environment: The work environment

this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
