Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist Profession: Radiology Specialty: Cath Lab Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: 2 years of experience in the operation of radiologic equipment or an equivalent combination of specialized training and experience is required. License: Valid State License preferred. Certifications: BLS/ACLS required. Must-Have: IR experience required. Proven radiologic technologist knowledge, skills, and abilities. Epic experience required. Description: This position functions in the Department of Interventional Radiology as an integral member of a team approach to patient care. The Interventional Radiology Technologist, in collaboration with physicians and nurses, strives to provide high-quality care to every patient. Daily assignments vary due to the range of procedures completed, including central line placements, embolizations, and strokes. The patient population ranges from neonates to geriatrics, adding a unique layer to the care provided. This position rotates between multiple locations, with call requirements averaging 4-6 shifts per month. The IR Technologist provides direct patient care using medical imaging techniques to assist the Interventionalist in diagnosis and/or treatment. They assist with radiographic procedures to demonstrate vascular and non-vascular structures for interpretation and/or therapeutic intervention. They deliver appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful procedure completion. They ensure radiation safety for all patients and team members involved in procedures.
