weekends and holidays Position overview The ICU Registered Nurse
Nights provides comprehensive critical care to critically ill and
high-risk patients in a high-acuity intensive care/coronary care
environment. This role is ideal for ICU nurses with strong clinical
judgment and technical proficiency who are comfortable working
nights and collaborating within an experienced multidisciplinary
team. Key responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to
critically ill and high-risk patients requiring continuous
monitoring and complex interventions. Perform advanced assessments,
interpret trends in vital signs and hemodynamic data, and adjust
care plans accordingly. Administer medications, titrate vasoactive
drips, and manage life-support equipment such as mechanical
ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors. Collaborate
closely with intensivists, cardiologists, respiratory therapists,
and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate
evidence-based care. Respond promptly to emergencies and acute
changes in patient condition, participating in codes and rapid
response situations. Document assessments, interventions, and
outcomes accurately and efficiently using EPIC EMR. Adhere to ICU
protocols, infection prevention standards, and patient safety
initiatives to support optimal outcomes. Required qualifications
Active Oregon RN license at time of submission. Minimum 1 year of
recent ICU experience in an acute care hospital (2 years strongly
preferred for travel roles). Current BLS (Healthcare Provider
level) certification. ACLS, PALS, and TNCC preferred for management
of complex adult and occasional pediatric or trauma patients.
Verification of high school diploma or equivalent as required for
CAP/credentialing. Ability to work night shifts with rotating
weekends and holiday coverage as scheduled. Core competencies
Critical care nursing expertise, including ventilator management,
hemodynamic monitoring, and complex medication administration.
Advanced assessment skills and clinical judgment in rapidly
changing, high-acuity environments. Emergency response,
prioritization, and participation in codes and rapid response
situations. Strong communication and teamwork with physicians,
allied health professionals, patients, and families. High attention
to detail and documentation accuracy within EPIC EMR and unit
protocols. Adaptability and resilience when managing multiple
complex patients on night shifts. Additional assignment details Two
ICU RN positions available for this night-shift contract. Holiday
coverage is required per facility staffing needs. Submissions
