This position is anticipated to last approx one year. Position is responsible for assisting the University Human Resources in web design and development, web posting, and document management. Includes organization of information, archiving and maintaining systems for easy access by Human Resources staff, OSU employees and outside constituents. Works collaboratively with stakeholders in HR and across the university, and OSU Web & Mobile Services. This role is a non-benefited, hourly academic wage position. Position Duties 70% - Web Content and Design: - Design, update content, maintain and monitor the use of an UHR secured website for HR leadership and designees to communicate HR information to OSU employees and outside constituents. - Design and develop templates and custom web sites using CSS, JavaScript, XHTML and OSU's Drupal Content Management System, or other appropriate language for use in a Web-browser accessible environment. - Prepare documents (which could include formatting to .pdf files and other file formats, and standardizing with headers, footers, dates and author) for web posting. Requires archival procedures as dictated by university requirements, coordinating with content experts and understanding of where documents are posted to avoid conflicting links. - Work closely with Division of Finance & Administration IT, OSU Web & Mobile Services and OSU University Relations & Marketing to ensure integrity of website, photo guidance and compatibility with content management. - Consult with content providers for how to best organize web content, ensure links are updated and recommend the best practices to create a high quality and accessible user experience. - Trouble-shoot technical issues, broken links, spelling errors, possible accessibility issues, errors and/or concerns, and other inconsistencies as reported by users. Use a web governance tool to help with optimizing and managing these processes, and monitor web accessibility, goveranance and overall quality assurance of the HR website. - Use Google Analytics and other resources to review and monitor web traffic and pull statistical reports on HR web hits and most visited HR webpages. - Works with appropriate HR policy owners, OSU Compliance and other relevant parties to coordinate and update policies, standards and rules on the HR website and other documents. - Assists with the processes to reviews, update, and maintain HR policy manuals. 30% - Document Management: - Post documents and guidelines for UHR staff to the HR s and Restricted s drives for the purpose of ensuring HR consistency in policies and procedures and providing updated information that is universally understood by HR staff. - Ensure consistency with headers, footers, dates and authors, fonts and design elements, such as the university logo, to comply with university branding standards. Minimum/Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field . - Demonstrated skill in translating complex information into logical, comprehensible, and appealing written, verbal, and visual formats for a broad and diverse user base. - General knowledge of developing websites with demonstrated skill in web content management, web ADA accessibility standards (ADA, WCAG), browser compliance and general usability. - Experience creating, developing and managing organizational website. - Experience using web-based content management systems. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals. - A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have itional Criminal History Checks every 24 months. Preferred (Special) Qualifications - Experience with Drupal, Joomia, WordPress or other similar web-based content management system, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) - Demonstrable experience with productivity software, including Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and Box.
