About The Role Our software team is growing rapidly and we are looking for talented engineers to join our small, agile, world-class team. In this role you will be solving challenging locomotion problems like reasoning where the robot can apply contact and how to execute whole body motions in a constrained environment for different manipulation tasks. Your work will be critical in enabling Digit to autonomously interact with its environment and manipulate objects as well as push the boundaries of what humanoid robots can do. About The Work Develop dynamic models for locomotion planning and control Develop trajectory optimization algorithms for executing whole body loco-manipulation Support identification of safe foot/hand contact locations from sensor data Work with other teams in software (Perception, State Estimation, and Controls) to solve complex cross functional problems About You You have MS or Ph.D. in robotics, computer science, or related field or have equivalent industry experience 2 years of experience developing locomotion algorithms on hardware Proficiency in concepts related to locomotion such as (but not limited to) zero moment point, kinematics, centroidal dynamics, and footstep planning Proficiency in trajectory optimization and common locomotion formulations Strong software experience in modern C++ Ability to communicate technical information effectively both orally and in writing with other team members Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships Authorization to work in the USA You might also have Experience integrating perception into footstep planning Experience with model predictive and whole body control Experience leveraging machine learning or offline trajectory optimization for speeding up online planning Strong mathematical fundamentals in search and optimization Exposure to standard agile and software development processes (issue tracking tools (Jira), feature branching, version control (Git), continuous integration and deployment) Publications in your field (RSS, ICRA, IROS preferred) Apply Now: https://grnh.se/b444bbd04us
