Job Description:
The mission for this position is to support the Quality
Department through a focus on all canning and aseptic production,
as well as ensuring continuous improvement by driving Incident
Responses in those categories.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for
ensuring all canned and aseptic products meet established food
safety, quality and regulatory requirements.Review canning and
aseptic batch paperwork daily, and report quality concerns to
appropriate personnel. Responsible for follow-up and reporting with
appropriate personnel on deficiencies.Review canning and aseptic
physical grade sheets for accuracy, and to confirm if product is
within specification. Review physical samples with potential
deficiencies and report findings as appropriate.Responsible for
communication and follow-up with the Process Authorities.Determine
appropriate allocations for canned and aseptic products which are
found to deviate from the specification.Maintain Positive Release
Program for canned and aseptic products.Specialize in all QC
functions for the canning and aseptic lines, and assist in
maintaining accurate SOP's, and conducting training of the lab
technicians.Responsible for management of inventory from production
allocation to release for the assigned product
categories.Responsible to ensure customer questions on product
quality, shelf-life and other requests specific to canning and
aseptic products are completed.Responsible for the Incident
Response Program within the Quality Department for canned and
aseptic products. This includes investigation, final disposition,
root cause analysis and identification and implementation of
preventive actions. This will include cross-functional department
efforts across multiple shifts.This position has been identified as
holding responsibility for food safety and quality of the company.
This responsibility extends over all shifts.During absence, the
following position serves as coverage to this position: Quality
Assurance Manager, Quality Control Manager.Perform other duties as
assigned.Minimum QualificationsBachelor of Science in Microbiology,
Food Science, Ag Science or related field.Minimum of 3 years'
experience in food manufacturing, preferably in a Quality role.PCQI
certification preferred or required within 6 months of hire.Better
Process Control School certification preferred or required within 6
months of hire.Strong knowledge of Food Safety System
Pre-requisition program implementation.Strong knowledge of Food
Safety System HACCP and HARPC (preventive controls)
implementation.Must be a team oriented strong problem solver, able
to create solutions to challenges in an expedient manner.The
ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize assignments is
essential.Strong computer skills are important. Proficiency in
understanding and use of personal computers, Excel, Word, and
