Project Engineer I

General description of the position
Offers technical information to project supervisor to ensure work
complies with applicable specifications, drawings and
specifications
May coordinate change orders, expedite material and job site
equipment, and compile data to assist in analyzing project progress
to submit to Superintendent, Operations Manager, or Administrative
staff
Inspects all work to assure compliance with plans and
specifications
Catalogs and records onsite equipment
Tracks and updates daily task and Change Order logs, tracks extra
work authorizations and daily sign-offs to submit to accounting
Liaises between field and office personnel to ensure field and
office communication is fluid
Prepares and tracks submittals, RFIs, subcontracted work, and
materials for purposes of quality compliance, accurate quantity
assessment, technical verification, impacts to cost or delays, and
cost control
Daily photo/video documentation of site work
Attends staff safety and project meetings as needed
Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies,
performance standards and specifications
Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule,
plans, personnel's performance) and report regularly on project
status
Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and
other project participants to provide assistance and technical
support
Review engineering deliverables and recommend appropriate
corrective actions
Tracks and compiles performed work for quantity/billing
submissions
Tracks field crews on site for work hours/classifications

A variable combination of Remote Office and Project Site/s
Shift
Flexible, self-directed hours
Overtime is expected to be performed as needed, the annual salary
is considered to be adequate compensation for this requirement
Working conditions
Typically on-site with remote access to database. Where applicable,
remote office will be based on the main construction site, but
capacity to remotely monitor multiple projects is required.
Expectation of time spent meeting workers, contractors,
subcontractors, and Owner's representatives
Physical activity level
Operation of standard office equipment and use of computer
equipment for extended periods of time
Required to stand, sit and maneuver around office area
Moderate to heavy physical activity performing essential
construction job site work. May be required to sit, stand, bend,
climb and frequently lift, push or carry items less than 50 lbs
Valid OR or WA drivers' license with the ability to drive and
operate a vehicle required to perform construction site visits
Knowledge, skills and abilities required
Strong troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Good analytical and financial management skills

Ability to work in multiple software platforms
Proficiency in DocExpress, Raken, CAD, Google Suite, TopCon total
station, TopCon machine controls, Slack a plus
Bachelor's or Master's of Science in Civil Engineering,
Construction Management, Architecture, or other related discipline
preferred
