Outside Machinist Supervisor

JAG Industrial & Marine Services is hiring for Outside Machinist Supervisor positions from cities nationwide for projects located on shipyards across the United States.

Travel is required for all positions. All JAG employees must be willing and able to travel. Projects are located at shipyards throughout the United States and all team members will travel to project locations.

JAG Industrial & Marine Services is hiring for OSM Supervisor positions for projects located on shipyards throughout the U.S. JAG offers tradesmen a competitive pay structure, with per diem available for qualified applicants and the potential to gross approximately $2,200.00 and above per week. Supervisor must have trade specific work experience in the physically demanding marine/industrial environment. Must be U.S. Citizen or National with clean background for a minimum 10 years and able to pass 10 panel drug screen. Immediate openings, short & long term assignments.

Position Description/Requirements

The role of an Outside Machinist Supervisor involves overseeing and coordinating the activities of mechanics, installers, and repairers. The main tasks associated with this position include:

• Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based on priorities, equipment quantity, and personnel skill.
  
• Monitor employees' work levels and conduct reviews of work performance.

  • Monitor tool and part inventories, ensuring the proper condition and maintenance of shops for optimal working conditions.
    
    
    
    
  • Safety and Reporting:

    • Investigate accidents or injuries, preparing detailed reports of findings.
      
    • Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, or disciplinary measures.
      
      
      
      
    • Record Keeping:

      • Compile operational or personnel records, including time and production records, inventory data, and repair or maintenance statistics.
        
      • Participate in budget preparation and administration, coordinating purchasing, documentation, and monitoring departmental expenditures.

        • Inspect and monitor work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure employee safety and compliance with procedures and safety rules.
          
        • Inspect, test, and measure completed work to verify conformance to standards or repair requirements.

          • Perform skilled repair or maintenance operations, utilizing equipment such as hand or power tools, hydraulic presses or shears, or welding equipment.

            • Interpret specifications, blueprints, or job orders to construct templates and lay out reference points for workers.
              
              
              Physical Requirements
              
              This position requires working in inside and/or outside environmental conditions, shipyard and/or remote locations, teams in opens spaces, heights above 6 feet, and/or in confined spaces. Tasks require repetitive sequences that include balancing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger manipulation, grasping, feeling, seeing, hearing, speaking, an acute sense of smell and exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects and/or lift objects. Protective clothing, hearing and eye protection, hard hats, safety shoes or boots (steel), and respiratory protection shall be worn accordingly.
