Hour (dependent on education & experience) Schedule: Friday -
Monday (1pm - 11pm) Location: McMinnville, OR ( Rural Yamhill
County) Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week) / Non-Exempt General
Position Summary This position works primarily with behaviorally
challenged youth ages 6-17 in a foster home setting. This position
provides crisis support, interventions, and learns to identify and
support risk factors in youth. The Group Life Worker I fosters a
mentoring relationship with the youth, identifies each youth’s
individual strengths, and facilitates skill-building and

Assistance Program Minimum Requirements High School diploma / GED.
Reliable transportation, valid Oregon driver’s license (or the
ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license within 30 days of
hire) with a driving record that permits coverage under the
agency’s corporate auto liability policy and personal automobile
liability insurance. Ability to complete core competency training
within the first 3 months of employment. Ability to obtain a CPR
and First Aid Card plus a Food Handler’s Card. Prior demonstrated
ability to communicate effectively and coordinate youth activities
is a plus. Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of concepts of human behavior, growth, and adjustment
difficulties. Basic computer skills with Microsoft Word and Google
Docs. Knowledge of Treatment Planning or the ability to learn.
Knowledge of Strength Based Principles. Knowledge of de-escalation
techniques. Skill in follow-up and follow through. Critical
thinking and problem solving. Ability to demonstrate and
understanding of core competencies required for this position.
Ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to work with
all the people we serve. Ability to mentor and counsel youth.
Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to complete tasks on time and meet deadlines. Ability to be
accurate and document records. Ability to work 1:1 with the
population we serve. Ability to build on client’s strengths.

communicate effectively (written and oral). Ability to facilitate
skill building or recreational activities. Essential Position
Functions and Key Work Processes Works with youth to identify
strengths, issues, and needs. Facilitates skill-building and
recreational activities with youth. Provides a structured, daily
routine that supports public safety, personal safety, and
accountability. Assists in planning, coordinating, and supervising
the recreational component for each youth. Assists with and guides
youth in household duties and recreational activities. Communicates
with family members and other support individuals for the youth,
when appropriate. Attend team meetings, which include mandatory
compensated team meetings, and participate in organizational
committees or teams as directed by the Program Manager or Program
Director. Stays current on latest trends recommended in the
treatment and reformation of at-risk youth. Schedules and
transports youth to and from various outings, appointments, or
services. Supports the Respite Services Team with assignments or
duties as directed by the Program Manager or Program Director.
Household upkeep duties such as cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc.
Standard Expectations Follow the mission, community commitment,
vision, values, and traditions of the Catholic Community Services
of the Mid-Willamette Valley and Central Coast. Follow the policies
and procedures of CCS as outlined in the Organizational Operating
Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, and the Employee
Handbook. Follow all safety measures as required by OSHA and
Catholic Community Services. Follow confidentiality expectations
regarding the families and children we serve. Adhere to the
Catholic Charities Code of Ethics. Support multiculturalism by
treating all people with dignity and respect, not engaging in any
discriminatory behavior and support the program’s cultural
competency goals. Act as a team member including, but not limited
to active participation, working well with others, and supporting
team efforts and goals. Use a solution focused/problem solving
approach when conducting agency business. Provide and maintain
professional, respectful communication with all persons while
representing CCS. Job Complexity To work with all types of
individuals in a supporting and mentoring role. To establish
rapport with youth and families, and treatment team members. To
complete all reporting and daily shift documentation in a timely
and accurate manner. To stay current on trends that support the
treatment plans of youth. To work in a dynamic organization and
remain flexible. Interpersonal Contacts Contacts are numerous and
frequent with individuals and groups inside and outside the
organization. Interactions will involve face to face and telephone
contact. Interactions involve confidential and/or sensitive
information.
